Romantic composer stories in sound, words and image. Storytelling (in Dutch) brings to life the story behind the music: letters, diary-fragments, simple theatrical means, a modern beamer, the pianoforte, the location, all coming together in our story of sound...
The audience is taken on a rich and inspiring journey.

Programme 1. Sehnsucht nach Julius

The unique story of a Norwegian-Dutch alliance: Norwegian Edvard Grieg and the 'German Dutchman' Julius Röntgen. The story of their frienship (from 1883 untill the death of Grieg in 1907), larded with music for violin & piano from both composer.

Programme 2. Amanda back on tour!

Violinist Eva Stegeman and pianist Folke Nauta play works from the forgotten multitalent Amanda Maier (1853-1894) and contemporaries with whom she was friends, such as Brahms and Grieg. Brought alive by storyteller Huib Ramaer. This performance gives the audience a taste of the Amsterdam musical atmosphere in the late 19-hunderds and gives a insight in the often tragical faith of talented female musicians of that period of time.
